I wanna do a little weekend trip with my fishing buddy to a lake over there east of the cascades....

Don't really feel like driving to Spokane, I wanna keep the drive to like 3 hours, so its more of Central WA. Anyways, what do you guys think about a good trout lake with a good launch and some really nearby lodging or even better like a resort on the water? Like Coconully Reservoir or Fish Lake? I got a fishing boat so I don't need to bank it or rent, I just need a good lake with some cheap lodging for a night or two and some good trout fishing....

Thanks

Just finished reading about all the lakes that open 3/1 around Pot Holes. Pot Holes itself is a hot lake for trout before summer gets there. Mar Dons resort right on the water. Or state park 1 mile away with excellent ramp. Save the time and the drive to Coconully, it may still be frozen??

Yeah. I would agree if you want good amenities and some good size trout, Potholes is the place.

You might think of Moses lake too. There is good walleye fishing there. You could stay in Mosy and drive a little north to Billy Clap lake. I have heard of some decent trout being caught there. I'm not sure if its open right now, but just check the regs.

Most of the other good lakes are not close to lodging or they are full of new planters. If your into planters just stop in Ellensburg. There are two freeway ponds that they have recently stocked. One them had a quite a few brooders and jumbo's released.
