Hey I've been to Pot holes in the summer a few times and every time the problem is the fish are too dam full with all the baitfish. Any tips from anybody on conditions like this and what I should try doing?
Also if anybody has any more tips on Pot holes in general please tell. I'm headin there in the middle of April and am hoping I don't have the same baitfish experience as last summer. Any hot spawning spots for both LMB, SMB, and Walleye?
Thanks

If you do search of the articles and reports you'll find lots of info I think. Here is an article I did a few years back:

Ever hear of "matching the hatch"? One year we had the same problem Trout fishing until I put on a "Fat Shad Rap"that looked like a perch or Bass fry. I killed them and my buddy fishing flasher and worms didn't touch a fish.
They were full of small perch/Bass fry. PLUS that day it was 100F, go figure.

Yeah I've tried that before. Last time I was there my general goal was to make my meal as easy as possible to obtain and it marginally worked. The bass I did catch was about 2 pounds and its stomach was a balloon. I think I have trouble identifying the minnows that are around. I also think I have trouble identifying the times the fish feed when the lake is full of dumb fry to eat. Do the fish still eat in morning and evening when the lake is full of food anytime of the day? When the lake is full are the morning/evening feedings more extreme. Such as earlier in the morning and later in the afternoon?
