Ever since pay-rod left the m's i've hated him more than any baseball player other than bonds, but now, i regained my love of a-rod once again. The logic here is simple and for any of you anti-bonds people this thinking should be yours too. A-Rod is the anti-bonds...think about it, he has never had any kind of steroid allegations against him so all his records are viewed as being clean by everyone (unlike bonds). He is the best legit shot at both the single season homerun record and the career record, whatever that may be when bonds put his tainted mark there too. I hope alex doesn't slow down this year, and when he does start approaching 73 towards the end of the season i will be rooting him along and saying f' the yanks all at the same time. Just my point of view.

Bonds is a douchebag who should be sent the way of Pete Rose.
I cant believe that turd is still allowed to swing a bat.

Babe Ruth did it drunk and hung over and out of shape and in the days before computer controlled machine wound baseballs and cork filled bats..what this dung hill had to cheat to attain...and that goes for those other two 'roid bag jerkwads Sosa & McGwire.

Something to chew on for baseball fans:

Remember the big Homerun record race Betwixt McGwire & Sosa was the very next season after "The Year Without Baseball" and The MLB needed to win back some very pissed off fans after those shitheads went on strike for a season because they weren't making quite enough scratching thier balls in the outfield...

The good news is that someday A-Rod will surpass Bonds in HR's.

Have you seen McGwire lately............he's built like Pee Wee Herman, it's kind of funny what happens to your body when you stop taking 'roids.

Irie, you have the same explanation I felt at the time when that was going on between Sosa & McGuire. Most of the sports fans are too wrapped up in the hype to realize it is often like pro wrestling. They (owners & players) laugh all the way to the bank when the
fans fall for the latest scheme.A-Rod could very well be the best player we will ever see in our lifetime. The fact that he does it without any artificial help should be applauded even tho I hate the "f-n" Yankees. Good post.

Does anybody else remember when A-rod was drafted by the Mariners. If I remember right he was coming out of high school and refused to sign except for a huge amount. He wanted to be paid like a superstar without any experience. I kept thinking, "whats up with this arrogent kid." Then he went out and proved he was worth every penny.

I think it was his sister who acted as his agent. Myself, when he said it was all about winning and not the money then he turns down a 5 year offer from the M's that would have made him the highest paid player in baseball and goes for the ten year deal with Texas, a team that has never won, and on top of that tries to pretend like he's really going to miss his team mates I lost all respect for the dude. He's like Jeeter's kid brother always trying to one up him and never quite making it. I hope he's doomed to a career of no world series everywhere he goes.

I'm with stlhead on this one. Alex is an exceptional baseball player, no doubt he will go down as one of the best. But he is the biggest prima donna in baseball.....what do you expect, he learned it from another prima donna, Ken Griffey Jr.

A-Rod's contract has all sorts of prima donna stuff in it...I believe he flys privately, not with the team, he has links from the Yankees website to his, he gets his own private penthouse suite on the road when everybody else shares a room, etc. Most players would not want the extras out of fear of being ostracized...but not Alex, he's above everybody else.

He will be seeking the biggest contract in MLB history at the end of the season....and the Yankees will be the only team that won't have a shot at him. \:\)

Don't hate the player, hate the game. I doubt he's the only one who doesn't share a room. He will be a record holder and hall of famer, doesn't have anything to do with the spankees.
