I thought I was clear in my post but I guess not. Let me elaborate.

I grew up on Flowing Lake. My brother, uncle and best friend all live on the lake next to each other. Triple beach front. The lake is stocked big time. I don't have to use the public boat launch. If the boys get tired of fishing in the boat we will go to shore and fish off one of the docks. Maybe build a fire and cook some hot dogs. If Flowing isn't crowded enough for us maybe we'll go over to Storm Lake. I know someone on that lake too. If I was looking for a wilderness experience I'd take the boys to Alaska.

Catching those big Sauk fish is just the same ole same ole:)

Okay Hillbilly, now I get it. Have a great opening day and I hope you all get your limits!

I wish I could say the same about the Sauk fish....I haven't caught enough of them to form an opinion.

Ike

i went to the lake before sun-up and had my fill of fishing by 6:00. no big ones today, just stockers, but when you use 4lb test and an ultralight rod, it's always fun.

interesting thing i noticed today. i didn't see any drift boats or sleds with the family in them. all those guys were either by themselves or with other adults who seemed to be rather seasoned fishermen. funny seeing a 20' windsheild sled on a 60 acre lake, though...

Our little guy decided to break his ankle last night. First opening day I missed in forever. He's okay, and I might get out tomorrow.

That stinks Andy. I hope Ryan is ok. Wrap a plastic bag around the cast tomorrow!
The summer I had a broken ankle I spent many a day floating around in our canoe.

My wife will prolly put his permanent cast on him come Monday if you have it done in Olympia.

Also, I think I might add that I landed a 19" Rainbow Trout this morning at Summit Lake.

Pics Tomorrow. \:\)

You can get an elecric pump that plugs into your cigarette lighter for something like $20. Well worth the saved time and labor.

"Todd, I think you pissed the River Gods off with your little story. "

F'n A on that...rained so damn hard on Friday that the rivers were blown on Saturday, and still blown today...we spent Saturday sitting in lawn chairs in the 68 degree sun and casting slinkies at garbage can lids spread strategically around camp...

I hope everyone who hit opening day with some kids had a great time and got a few more new anglers indoctrinated!

Fish on...

Todd

OK. Here is my story. My 19 year old son says to me Friday night. You know dad, I can't even remember when we went lake fishing last. Of course I have to work Sat so we decide to go on Sunday. He wants to take his 19 year old girlfriend who has never caught a fish. So we take the drift boat to Anderson Lake in Jefferson Co. We pull in there well after daylight and there is only 2 cars and not a boat on the Lake. Now I'm thinking it must have been a really bad opener on Sat. and everyone went else where today. Well we put in and wound up getting our limits. We had a few triploids and a couple of holdovers. His girlfriend had a great time, caught the biggest fish, and now can't wait to go down the river for some bigger fish.
