One of my sons sent me this. It was sent to him from a co-worker. I have no idea where this takes place. Has anyone ever seen this kind of fishing before?

I've seen it. I saw it on youtube and myspace. I checked out the number on the bottom of the video and it is a 309 area code which is an Illinois phone number. I wouldn't mind doing it, that's for sure. Looks like fun, and those fish are pretty good sized.

Pretty sure it's around Joliet...about 30 miles from Chicago.

I've seen people do it. Its legal here for Invasive species. I think he was after bullfrogs. Had a big maglight clamped on and was wearing a wetsuit and mask.

Id bet a chunk of money those crackers on that video are using electrodes to make those fish boil up out of the water like that.

They're some kind of invasive carp. And yeah they're probably shocking them up.

Guys shoot carp all the time over here with a bow. They even have a few tournys each year. Looks fun. I have never done it, but know guys who do.

Another note about carp: I know some VERY good fly fisherman that have gone insane for carp on the fly. Hard to catch, fight like crazy and get VERY large.

I've plugged carp w/ a bow. It's fun. \:\)

They jump a lot and pull pretty hard.

I think they are called asian carp. I googled it one time and they are not shocking them. There is some RPM of the motor that makes 'em go nuts and jump like crazy. . . . Looks like a ton of fun, but I am more of a shotgun guy myself ...

This video was on the main board about two months ago. They are asian carp and that looks like a blast. I used to shoot carp when I was in high school. I won a local tournament two years in a row back in Michigan. Here is one that I won with, 32 lbs.

Very interesting. They are more of a nuisance.
