My fishing partner has had a problem with gas fumes in his Seasport. He took it to the dealer and they said they found a bad fitting. Fixed it charged him for it and he was on his way. We went out on one trip and still had the gas smell. When we got home we found gas in the bildge. Back to the dealer This time they said that the tank needed to be replaced. More time more money. This boat is only a few years old . I was under the impression that a gas tank should last a long time. My boat is 22 years old and never had a tank problem. And its a bayliner Not a big $$$$$ seasport. I think it should have been fixed for free under a warrentee kind of deal Afterall it was a saftey problem Has anyone else had these kind of problems with their Sport.

Contact the manufacture, not the dealer. If its only a couple years old there should be some kind of recourse directly with seasport.

I used to work for a big time yacht dealer, believe me there are quite a few of those techs that you wouldn't want washing your boat, let alone working on it.

It might be worth it to call Boon Docks Boats and Motors up here in Bellingham. They are part of Seasport and are the main dealer office. Talk to Jon. He might be able to help out. They are manufactured up here in Bellingham.
