Went to Yokes fresh market in Pasco this morning. As alway's I rumage through the frozen packages of fillet salmon.

Then there they were, some of the most beautiful chrome bright Siver & Chum fillets, with meat so flaming red...These could only be from Alaska. NOT.

Packaged from China. DO'H, Freaking sad.

Or am I way off base here, does China have a Salmon fishery other than Pacific Salmon?

China or Taiwan? The Taiwanese have a high seas fishery that intercepts some salmon, more likely pink and chum than coho. China has more of a processing industry than a high seas fishery, but things do change, so who knows? China doesn't have much in the way of salmon bearing rivers, but they might be fishing the high seas also.

Most likely farm raised fish. Then colored silver with mercury and red with transmission fluid or some such thing.

I know this sounds stupid, they ship Alaskan caught fish to China for processing then ship them back to us. Now there is some mighty fresh fish!
