Bought the new Neil Young CD yesterday, "Chrome Dreams 2". Songs mostly from 1976. They would've been on an album then except that Joni Mitchell didn't like the continuity when Neil played his demo for her.

10 songs total, I liked 5. I generally like the gnarlier ones. I think 3 could become instant classics..."Ordinary People","No Hidden Path", and "The Way".

I couldn't afford tickets to his show in Seattle last night. Maybe in the past I might have, but not this year with the economy being the way it is.

Anybody out there who DID go? If so, how was it?

I like Neil, but I can't listen to more than a song or two and his whinny voice starts to piss me off. Then I listen to some Bon Scott or Bruce Dickinson and I'm all better again.

Sorry Moe but im with Sol on this, except I can't even listen to two seconds of N.Y. Give me some Rob Halford or Paul rodgers. But hey enjoy your new C.D Bud!

I would put Neil Young right up there with Slayer and Cannibal Corpse. I do think the song Old Man is probably one of the best of that era though.

I would put Neil Young right up there with Boston, or the Boston of the 90's Def Leppard.

I agree that the GF of grunge has a horrible voice but I dig his music.
The review in the paper today said he did 3.5 hours and that it rocked.
Not many acts doing more than 2 hrs.

i kind of put him in the bob dylan category -- brilliant songwriter but he can't sing and sucks at playing guitar.
