So let's here from the GW apologists on this one. What say ye to the fact that Iran DOES NOT POSSESS A NUCLEAR WEAPON AND DOES NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPONS PROGRAM?

Me thinks since the Cheney/Bush cronies have been dropping out like flies there was nobody left to continue the charade of Iran's WMD's. I'm betting someone was about to spill the beans so they had to come clean. That someone may have prevented WWIII.

Yeah, it sure is hard to believe that information as important as Iran's nuclear status just got to the president last week. This is the info from 2003!!! Keep that in mind as you think of all the push towards war that the administration has done in the last several years.

Lies or incompetence... take your pick.

What's happened is none of Bush's Blank Checks are being cashed by congress anymore so the Profit Party's been cancelled.

Hey Aunty,

I don't think anyone was defending Iran here. I think the point was that the American public was (and still is) being told that Iran is a very serious threat primarily because of their nuclear weapons program. Now we learn, according to US intelligence, the program was stopped in 2003. The president says he just heard about it last week. Does that seem strange? With the administration's wandering reasons for attacking Iraq, people are now wondering if all of the Iran talk is another example of starting with a verdict and then looking for evidence. Isn't that fair to question?

Questioning Hillary or Obama (or any other person running for office) seems fair to me but I'm not sure they deserve the same type of scrutiny as the captain of the ship?

Also, are you referring to Hillary falling for the Iran or Iraq intelligence (although "both" might be the correct answer)? Can you also explain what you are referring to when you say that Obama is flip flopping?

Thanks,
Kaiser D.

Faulty Intelligence? lol

Anyone actually read the report?

IT just simply states Iran halted it's nuke weapons programs in 2003, BUT it also states that they continue to enrich material as of late october 2007 that could be used for a nuclear weapon. AND that they could if they wanted to - easily could convert it's ongoing civil nuclear program to a weapons program. AND that it would be likely they would have enough enriched material by 2009 to put together a weapon and much more likely to be capable of having a weapon by 2013( A point the pundits such as Biden and main media components are intentionally not letting be known - They just skipped over those facts and read the bold type.) They also state the reason why they possibly have halted but NOT SURE they halted it's nuclear weapons program in 2003 was due to political and international pressure.

hmmmmm

"there is nothing to see here, just move along"

Oh btw they also mention the data gathered was from visiting facilities that were declared. They also mention it may be possible Iran might be covertly developing weapons at undisclosed locations.

Oh well atleast we won't have to worry about nuclear winters until 2013.

Don't get too dizzy with all that spinning, BJ. In this case, the bold type is actually fairly important.

Even your rightwing friends admit Bush's answers regarding this topic don't make any sense. Case and point, Joe Scarborough (not exactly a lib) said, "We are left with only two options here. Either the President of the United States is lying to the American people about what happened during that meeting, or the President of the United States is stupid."

First off the media - mainstream all be it is spinning. Joe Biden is spinning - not that it matters since he's only got about the chance of cat putting on a gold medal performance on a ice skating rink to get the democratic nomination. Harry Reid is still spinning "the surge is not working" just today. Nancy Pelosi - same thing. Notice the same people that are losing all the political battles are the ones taking sides with this issue. Once more truth on the matter makes it to daylight, those oppurtunists will be changing direction again. ***Notice Hillary is being very careful what she says because she actually has a good shot at getting the nomination.

BTW - Which right wing friends are you talking about?

Just the fact you said "Scarborough" puts down all claims of credibility.

Did you even read the thing? apparently not...LMAO@ you.

AM, here's another article by the same paper:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/09/16/wiran116.xml

Or by Reuters:

http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSN0454599720071205

What's going on here is a lot of rhetoric about an "axis of evil" while Pakistan, armed to the teeth, implodes. Must not be much to loot in Pakistan.

Aunty, from my perspective (lame or not), it really does seem like he has been trying to start a war with Iran. Maybe not "start a war" but certainly the administration has been ratcheting up the rhetoric in a very similar manner as was done pre-Iraq invasion. I do agree with you that an "invasion" of Iran is somewhere between extremely unlikely and impossible. I think it would be specific airstrikes on nuclear facilities if anything but that shouldn't be looked at lightly as one event tends to lead to another.

I also agree with you that Hillary is more similar to Bush's mindset than many other candidates. In fact, the core of the DNC isn't that far off of his mindset, which is a source of frustration for the more progressive dems.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

So, are you saying that your "unproven conspiracy theory" (I love that phrase BTW) is that Iran was planning to invade Iraq before we did? If so, are you thinking that we just wanted to beat them to the punch?

Hey nobody said you couldn't wear horse blinders. Wonder if Joe Biden, Harry Reid and Pelosi ever went into the radio business preaching what they want to do to America how many listeners they'd come up with. Try about none. LOL
