That's the one that has the name written on it?? The one that must have been bought through their guide program for oh, about $235? I hate it when people abuse the system... As seen on Craigslist "9', 6-15lb, 3/16-3/4oz. Gently used. Excellent look and feel. Top of the line. Has name written on rod blank. Retails over $500. Asking $375. Rod sock and PVC tube included. Check it out at http://www.sagegearrods.com/ct_series.asp " Hope whoever bought it knows they just bought a really nice rod with a lesser warranty than an ugly stick, as the only person who can get warranty service on that rod is the person who's name is on it!

Ouch, no doubt. I'm not familiar with Sage, but generally industry insiders get "pro-deals" so that they can be seen using the product in order to promote advertising. Generally, the industry frowns on their "pro-deal" gear being sold or even "used lightly" and then sold. Sometimes they even issue "fine print" to that effect. That MUST be why they put someone's name on it, huh? Not accusing anyone of anything, BUT: it would seem unethical to sell a "lightly used" rod for more than was paid for it... I wonder how many times this would happen before the company quits "sponsoring" guides and industry insiders?

To clarify any confusion, the rod was owned by a friend of mine who purchased it from a local sporting goods store. The clerk asked my friend if he wanted his name on the rod for free and he gladly accepted the offer. He paid full price for the rod. He's also in his 70's so I don't believe he guides. Art W. is his name. Very nice older gentleman who no longer needs the rod.
Anyway, the transaction is complete, so please delete this post. Thank you.

If that is truly the case, then my apologies... Sage requires all rods purchased through their guide program to have the owners name put on it before it is sent out...
If this is a legit deal, then again, my apologies...
