Anyone know a good area to hunt bear around Lincoln Creek, Brooklyn, or Oakville area besides the Capital Forest?

All of the above! Wish it was still legal to hunt with hounds, though!

Get in touch with Tater and hunt bears on the Res with bait. Can't wait until April, as it will be my turn on the trigger and my Father-in-law's turn to tape it.

Its a little late for bears this year.

Andy,
Do you see any big bears down there? I was planning on going back to montana again in search of a color phase but would be interested in more info on the hunt that you mentioned.
Thanks,
Tim

We saw one that was 300+ but it only presented a standing head-on shot. In three days of hunting we were blanked on beas the first two days, but the last day we had 5 bears come in. All, including the kill, were caught on tape. Sending you a PM with Tater's info.

They have BIONIC hearing.

How about a place to hunt them around Oakville Brookln area. Doesnt seem like much hunting standing over a bait I want to get out and find one. I have heard out towards brooklyn and oakville is good.

The best hides in my opinion are found in the spring. Hunting over bait is good way to judge for size and sex. The state of washington gives out very few spring tags and the hunt Dogfish mentions would be a good opportunity for someone to harvest a spring bear with a awesome hide.

I think the actual tag for the Q spring hunt is $250, the rest can be negotiated with the required guide.

Yes, the tag was $250 from the Tribe. Got the hunt this June for $500 (guide fee) at an auction. Gave the hunt to my father in law. Spot and stalk is how I got mine 6 years ago.

Baiting is probably the best management tool that was taken away from us with that unconstitutional referrendum. (They applied two different issues, bait and traps, for two different animals.)
