A few folders for your viewing pleasure. Plus an added bonus of an old pea shooter that is way older than me.... ;\) ....ok maybe not way older. But at least by a year or two.

WD-40 and very fine emery cloth can get the surface stuff. The deeper pits are there to stay unless you take a belt sander to it. I give a lot of my blades a WD bath unless the are the old folders with the old type bakelite scales. They tend to fall apart when exposed to harsh chemicals. Most of the good Old Timers have nylon scales that are pretty impervious to solvents.

Not much collector value in them. My reference book is a few years old but it lists the "H&R Model 922":

"A .22 rimfire caliber solid-frame revolver with a 2.5", 4", or 6" barrel. Blued with plastic grips. Manufactured between 1950 and 1982"

It lists them valued at $100 for a sample in excellent condition. Some of the less common models command slightly higher prices but not by much.

I should rephrase that comment about collector value. While they may not be worth lots of money, their collector value is in the eye of the beholder. I really like this pistol and think its a great piece of history. Especially when it comes with a hand written bill of sale dated August 5th 1961 with my fathers name on it. It also still has the original 2 page instruction manual.

What handle type and barrel length does it have?

On the cleaning issue: Would you work over an old rifle the same way?
