6TH BATTALION 37th ARTILLERY BRAVO BATTERY 1969-1970 That is the unit that my late father was assigned to from 1969 to 1970. This was his third TDY to Korea. His first TDY in Korea was when he was 17 at the outbreak of hostilities. Anyway, among some of his keepsakes he gave me before his passing, was a book from his TDY in 1969. It almost resembles a high school yearbook. The 6th battalion crest is on the cover along with the Indian head patch also worn by that unit. I don't know much other that that but I have photographed several sections of the book and would be happy to share it with the board members if you guys deem it appropriate content. I have the images uploaded to photobucket if that would be better to have just one link to the group of pictures? The inside title page also has the unit history listed from its inception in 1918 at Camp Lewis Washington. (now referred to as Ft. Lewis) Kind Regards, Eddie AKA Rafterman Just a sample page among many interesting shots that include the artillery pieces. My father is on the bottom. I still have the large name placard that is on his desk in the photo.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

That's some really cool stuff. Be glad you were able to get your hands on it. So much history gets lost when our elders pass. I think it's cool you are able to look back and see your dad in his day. PFC Flooen looks about 15 in those pics. Thanks for taking the time to post all this for us to check out.

Cool pics, Ed...I think they were a little less stringent on "age at enlistment" back then...sure seems like there were a lot of seventeen year old kids over there, and in WWII.
Fish on...

It's hard to believe we can see pics of real men like those on the same forum as we hear people even discussing the possibility of casting a vote for a Clinton or an Obamma...

Cool Stuff......post 'em up somewhere!
minor correction....First Sgt. and Sgt First Class are not the same thing. Yea, I wondered about that....I was just going off what he had on his desk placard. Seemed like most of the officers in that yearbook all had fancy name placards their desks. I don't know if his was made stateside or in Korea. There is no label or logo of any sort to identify where it was made. I have my fathers name placard on my desk now........

That is odd that he had both "SFC" AND "First Sergeant" printed on it.
