Its time to replace the carpet on the front steps. I have never done this before. Any tips or tricks to removing the carpet and dried adhesive would be helpful?

Concrete or wood steps? You'll likely have to wait for the wood to dry if that's the case. I would think that rubber contact cement would work well in either case. No need to remove the old glue, just take off what you can and reapply the cement. My 2

It's none of my business and maybe I'm missing something, but why would you choose to have carpet on your front steps? Aren't other alternatives better functional choices?

If you choose to go the carpet route, pick the blue color like Boise State. :>)

IM guessing bright green indoor outdoor... I helped pull that sh!t off an inlaws rental house once... vicegrips and muscles. then scraped them, ground the glue off and painted them. total pain in the butt painted concrete looked nearly as bad as the astro turf

They are concrete steps. Should I sand the old adhesive a litttle or just wash it? I was thinking about a pressure washer but I think that would make a huge mess.

If you can blast it off with a power washer, go for it. I hope you are successful, because pulling the old stuff off is going to be a major pain, unless it didn't stick well in the first place. If it did, just get it as clean as you can, smear on the new cement and forget it. If you have thick clumps of old glue, you're going to have to chip or grind unless you don't care about a lumpy carpet.

Geez, don't you need to go fishing? \:\)
