Was waiting at a Doc's office and reading a Bill Cosby book...forgot the title...It is written for college grads. While I was a little disappointed that the book didn't quite come off as good as the man himself, it did have some funny stuff.

One piece (paraphrased...I'm not smart enough to remember it as a quote) that stuck in my head was....School teaches kids today What to think instead of How to think.

Anyone else see the truth in that?

Personally, I don't think anyone under the age of 18 should even be allowed to say, "I know"......

Slab,I agree that it seems my teenage grandkids say "I know" before you can even finish explaining what you were saying.
I saw a quote by John Wayne about talking to kids about the importance of education. "Life is tough, it's even tougher when you are stupid"
Pretty much sums it up. The numbers on the kids who are dropping out of high school before graduation are staggering.
I honestly believe that the system is letting these kids down with all the mumbo-jumbo crap they are pushing about how all kids are equal and "special" ,just different. The dropping out is not thier fault, we let them down, and so on.
