I don't understand why everyone is questioning my gender just because I made a simple post. I'm just looking to get introduced back into fishing is all. There have been some very nice responses too I might add! :>)

I dont think i have to post a picture of me in my two piece bikini to validate my presence here..even though you would probaly enjoy seeing that :>)

Just please give me a chance, im really looking to enjoy the outdoors when im not working. Judy

Judy, a lot of the "people" on this board get a bitty stir crazy when the fishing is slow, or worse yet when most water is "unfishable". DOn't let them put you off, the few that I have met in my short time here have been great and I have gotten some great advice as well.
It doesn't seem like it takes much to get some going off on a tangent. Best to just watch and laugh, it can be quite entertaining.
Hang in there and get out fishing!

beer
Oh yeah, if you want to post in the two piece, I have no objections!!! eek evil

Judy,

This is, as a rule, a forum of good guys...it's just some of them forget to take their anti-moron pills each morning.

There are enough variants of personality here for Freud to write a hundred books about...so don't get discouraged when they get a bit frisky...with all this rain and the rivers blown out it's a wonder no one has lost their noodle and flown off to some distant land in order to soak their cork(s) in clean waters.

Also, standing in water up to your crotch when it is 33 degrees out and raining pigs and chickens, just so you *might* get a chance to hook a fish tends to warp the mental capacity
of many...especially after years of such abuse. This board is full of such individuals, myself being one of them (proudly!)

Hang in there, and when the rivers start to clean up folks will get much more sociable and willing to be objective in offering advice.

Mike

Judy,

Just think of this website as a bar. Most of the guys you will talk to are like drunk a**holes but are probably ok when they are sober. As ISO and FR said, some of us are under the influence of too much time on our hands. Sorry for any bad experiences thus far. Fishing is picking up and I, for one, am back to having tight lines. Thanks for not lowering yourself to some of our standards.

Is your two piece made out of neoprene or is it breathable?

Sorry, couldn't help it.

We usually fish up at Olson’s, Sekiu, the 2d and/or 3d week(s) of September every year. We stay in cabin #7 (if somebody does not beat us the reservations) One of us is a male RN that works nights in Auburn, WA. By that time next year, if you have met someone to take you back up there, stop by.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

This combined with ISO Chrome's post is about right Spot On.

Judy you should give it a try sometime. Saying stupid stuff online when you are bored out of your wits and drunk off your ass can be pretty entertaining.

I know all about it.

Some have built up a tolerance to the anti-moron pills.

Judy:

Hang in there, retired school teacher here, so know what comments can to a person. Some of the stuff is really funny, but some can be a "little over bearing". Lot's of "inside jokes and comments", that mean nothing to most of us but do to those that make them. Gives those people something to do and allow them to work on spelling and typing skills.

Have a lot of respect for your profession, as I get older my resect increases. Roll with the punches, can learn lot's from this forum.....all that said.......If you don't have a 2 piece swimming suit, a 1 piece will do!!!!! laugh

Does anyone see the irony in DrifterWA's post? Just think that it is funny. That’s all.

Judy - Hang in there. Alot of us get mildly annoyed too.

There are several folks who think this BB is about them. With the notable exception of Bob and Fishgal (the owners of this BB), it is not about who catches the biggest/most fish, it's about the information they provide. Some folks provide alot of great information that can help you get started and enjoy fishing for salmon/steelhead.

Others are little more than (quoting Aunty M here) "a bunch of chest-thumping, knuckle- dragging blowhards". Stick around here long enough and you can tell who they are. Just ignore'em, and go do some fishing.

Welcome and I wish you the best of luck!

Judy, I think that more women should take up fishing. I was just out in south sound casting for chum next to a nice female fisher and we shared a great time. She hooked a nice chum I, unfortunately did not.

Stick with it and get through the BS. Fishing is not about gender its about love of the outdoors. Of course, harvesting once in a while is nice too. smile
