That list can be reapplied to lots of stores/shopping places. I quit eating fast food about a year ago. Not only did THOSE people make me sick, the food did too!

I agree with you about people in lines at stores. You could write a book about all the stupid questions. Makes you realize why we have warnings on products that even our kids would not have trouble with. It has to be dumbed down to the stupid level and then clarified and disclaimed.

My favorite is the "chatty checker", busy BSing with everyone and moving items across the scanner at a snails pace.

It dose not matter how prepared you are to order. The people working back there are the same ones that you bitch about in the line.

Today we went to DQ. I ordered a double cheese burger and I told them I wanted just mustard, ketchup, and pickle on it. The wife and I drove over to the park to eat. Wouldn't you believe it. I opened the F*cking wraper and there was exactly what I ordered. A bun with mustard, ketchup, and pickle on it. NO MEAT. Why the flip would you order a DOUBLE with no meat. I took the thing back and asked what kind of a joke they were trying to pull. The girl took took it back to the guy putting the burgers together and he turned about three shades of red. They fixed me a new one up and we went about our day. No meat.

Classic!

That's right up there with the one about supermarket checker picking up that bar that goes between people's groceries on the conveyor, looking for the bar code, and asking "How much was this?"

That's funny j 7. When I used to visit McD's, I would order stuff plain so I wouldn't get a burger that's been sitting under a heat lamp for an hour. So I'd say "Double Cheeseburger, just plain, nothing on it." At least half the time they would ask me "do you want the meat and cheese?" Yeah dip$hit, just give me the bun.

I'm more of a Subway or a Roach Coach taco stand guy now....if I want a burger I try to visit an old school mom and pop drive-in.

Fast Food?

Burgers made from shitty overstuffed corn fed feed lot cows...

Buns void of any nutrient content (save for the enriched vitamins and high fructose corn syrup)...

Cheese that's not even cheese...

Condiments made mostly out of more high fructose corn syrup..

Side of fries (fried in grease made from corn oil)...

Soda, once again made from high fructose corn syrup...

NO THANKS... (There's better ways to die)

Since you brought up high fructose corn syrup, it reminded me of one of my favorite jokes brought to me by the universe.

I was driving down I-5 and came up on a car with the bumper sticker "Genetically modified corn is killing us". As I pulled up alongside and looked at the driver, he was smoking a cigarette and drinking a 64oz big gulp! I guess the cigarette was for speeding up the process

Supersize Me and Fastfood Nation pretty well sum up the fast food business and the modern meatpacking industry.

Like a modern version of Sinclair's 'The Jungle'.

In a year or two there's going to be a study that says fast food is good for you and we were all wrong not to eat it.

I say eat what you want in moderation, get some regular exercise, and you will be just fine.

BTW how was the cake Aunty?

Pass The Butter .. Please.

This is interesting . .

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavorings.

DO YOU KNOW.. the difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end...gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.

Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few
only because they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years .

And now, for Margarine..

Very high in Trans fatty acids.

Triple risk of coronary heart disease .
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here's the most disturbing fact.... HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).

You can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:

* no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

* it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny microorganisms will not find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic . Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

"Hydrogenated vegetable oil" - these three words should appear after toxic waste as a definition. Three quarters of the grocery store is composed of this crap because it prolongs shelf life - good for profits, bad for people.

Natural animal fats and monounsaturated fats like olive oil won't hurt you. The greatest hoax perpetrated on the public is the diet craze foods labeled "low-fat" or "no-fat" - you need fat as part of a healthy diet.

Good info on margerine John. Really nasty stuff. I wouldn't get to hung up on the one molecule away part. From a chemist point of view. All compunds are one molecule away from being something else.

Oxygen is one molecule away from being carbon monoxide.

So, everybody stop breathing. ;\)

I concur j7. Margarine is definitely some nasty suff and should be avoided at all cost. BTW, if you like butter try Ghee. It's more healthier for ya. I make my own from organic non salted butter.

BTW, I hear that when it first came out, the military would serve it as a white goo and they offered the yellow coloring as a side item that you could mix with the goo to look like butter. Yummy!

Well, if you stick to eating natural food, you'll just die from natural cancer. ;\)

If I hear ONE more motherf'er say "it's all natural, so it can't hurt you", I'm going to f'n lose it.......especially if their healthy ass is sporting a sun tan.

There is no subject in which more bullsh!t gets spewed than the subject of eating healthy.
