Please dont let me believe you think that was a better fight than all the epics fought by Ali. Ali-Frazier, Ali-Morton, Ali-Forman(probably the greatest heavywieght fight). Sugar Ray-Hit Man or Duran or Hagler. I would say even Evander-Bowe was better. Maybe the biggest upset but tyson was ready to be beaten. You knew he would run into someone who ducked those looping left hooks or uppercuts and he would loose. Just an oppinion.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Hagler/Hearns Hagler/Leonard
The Douglas/Tyson fight was the night of my bachelor party. There were lots of screaming maniacs there when Tyson hit the canvas. Itt was surely one of boxing's biggest upsets, but not close to the best fight.

SolDuc has it right - the Thrilla in Manila, Hagler/Hearns was a great fight as well, albeit a bit shorter!

I taped the Hagler/Hearns the night it happened. Awesome fight, 3 rounds of bombs.
Some more good fights........
Haugen/Pazienza series Ward/Gatti series
Love the old guys.....
Carmen Basilio, Sugar Ray Robinson, Jake LaMotta, etc., they fought 15 rounds toe to toe and would do it again a few weeks later.
Toughest? Rocky Marciano. He only weighed about 185 but fought in the heavyweight division. Undefeated. Destroyed Jersey Joe Walcott. In a fight with Ezzard Charles, Rocky had his nose split down the middle between his nostrils and came back and won.

Whitaker/Chavez was a good one. Clearly beat Chavez only to be called a draw. Pernell was also ripped on a decision against Delahoya. Hagler/Leonard another good one with a bad decision.
Anyone remember the fight Pernell Whitaker was losing going into the last round and his corner told him he needed a knockout to win and he went out and KO'd him?

Pedro Martinez/Don Zimmerman That WAS a good one! Nolan had his moments, though. I guess if you're gonna hit as many people as Ryan did, you probably should be pretty good at getting a batter in a headlock and throwing some noogie punches!

Emile Griffith and Benny "Kid" Paret was the most memorable to me as Paret was killed in the ring because the ref didn't stop it soon enough. Paret was against the ropes, as he would start to go down and Griffith would hit him with an uppercut and stand him up again. I don't know how the ref couldn't tell he was out on his feet. Griffith did what trained boxers do-keep swinging until the bell or ref say stop. My Dad (rip) was yelling at the tube for the ref to stop the fight.
