McCain is pulling out of Wisconsin today, too. It is almost, but not quite yet, mathematically impossible for him to win.

He's down by five or six points in Florida, too, another state that's been good to Repubs lately.

A popular vote differential of six or eight percentage points will look like a landslide compared to the last couple of elections, but the electoral college vote is shaping up to be a veritable rout...

Fish on...

Irie's gotten Florida converted with the "mildly amusing" thread wink

That's not the point, bwp...the point is that WI was one of the many battleground states that McSame almost had to win to win th election...he had to win virtually all of them, and he's getting his ass kicked in...wait for it...

All of them.

The Electoral College vote seems to be a very abstract idea to many of those on the right, but there's nothing abstract about the fact that it is the body that actually elects the President.

Fish on...

Todd

The exit polls have been an unpredictable measure of how folks are really voting in the past. I would venture a guess that this election is going to be MUCH closer than is being predicted in the polls.

I would really be surprised if there is a difference of more than 3% in the popular vote. How that is distributed in the electoral system in anybody's guess.

A coworker and I were talking about McCain tonight and how he's possibly the worst candidate the R's could have put up this year. If Mitt Romney or Ron Paul were running right now things would be very different. Romney's business background and Paul's conservative economic ideas would get a lot of votes in the current environment.

You don't have to specify which party, you could just say that this years nominees are the worst ever. I am going to vote for Ron Paul.

Close? I don't know what's happening up in the land of Oz, but here in PDX McCain yard signs and bumper stickers are MIA.

Thats cause you could get killed for putting up a McCain yard sign in woodstock. Okay, maybe not killed just beaten down with the sign before they steal it or use it to get the fire going when they burn down your house.
I remember going into Portland years back and listening to the DJ talk about the thousands they had raised to save a kitten. She ended it by saying, "thats Portland, saving the world one animal at a time."

Woodstock is actually quite pleasant...

There are many multi-million dollar houses there, all around Reed College- the "best", most exclusive, and most expensive private college in the US.

There's plenty of $$ in Woodstock, so there's likely to be some Republicans there too...

...I would, however, recommend that you keep your McSame signs out of the Alberta Arts District where the 'real' hippies, eco-terrorists, and cat-savers live!! wink

Actually the hippies mostly live in the Hawthorne district.
Mayor Potter lives in Woodstock, as well as the assistant DA.

Get out of any metropolitan area and the signs change from Obama to McCain.

Whereas the limpwrists, being in the metropolitan areas have many places to hide while engaging in their lewd and lascvious activities, without the fear of reprisal, knowing that many of them probably ARE government. Maybe thats why you are at an "undislosed location"?
