The same sh!t is still happening. Remember those flawed voting machines .....they're still at the ready for manipulation. http://www.votersunite.org/news.asp

http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/465.htmlFrom the movie Bush should not have been president in 2000 and he should not have been president in 2004. The evidence of organized vote-counting fraud in both elections was overwhelming, but the news media and the Democratic party did nothing. And nothing has changed since 2004. What will the news media and the Democratic party do if the same fraud machine that put Bush into office illegally does the same thing for John McCain? Past performance suggests they will do nothing.

Like I've been saying since right before the 2006 mid-terms...the way to beat that crap is to win decisively.
They can only steal a close one, like the 2000 and 2004 Presidential elections...they can't steal it when they'd have to do it in ten or twelve states for McSame to get enough electoral votes to win.
Black Box voting might be the most un-Democratic activity in the U.S., destroying what ought to be the most Democratic activity...voting.

Todd, are you saying that if Obama doesn't win you would request a recount, but if he wins the count will be satisfactory ? That seems to be an emotional stance rather than intellectual, I would think the accuracy of the count would be paramount in all cases...

No, I'm saying that Republicans stole the 2000 election by the most anti-American means possible...stopping tens of thousands of eligible voters from voting, with the help of Jeb Bush and AG Harris in Florida.
What I'm also saying is that they won't be able to do that this go around, because you can only steal an election that is close.
This one will not be close.

Three different issues:
1. Registration fraud. This is when made up names are registered, or people register twice. Illegal, and unethical. However, when Mickey Mouse is registered, he still can't vote, because he doesn't exist. The possibility of registration fraud leading to illegal voting is almost zero. This is what ACORN is accused of.
2. Voter fraud. This is when someone who is not supposed to vote, does. Someone could steal an absentee ballot and fill it in, or have fake ID and use it to vote with someone's valid voter registration. This could skew election results, but not much...it happens on a tiny scale.
3. Election fraud. This is when the election itself is fraudulent. Black Box voting that comes up with its own numbers rather than counting actual votes, or when whole blocks of legal American voters are disenfranchised from their most American right, the right to vote. This is what the Republicans did in 2000, and in 2004, and will attempt to do again in 2008. They'll attempt it the same way they did the last two cycles...they'll try to get hundreds of thousands of legal voters disqualified from voting, or their buddies at Diebold will use illegal machines (as they did in 2004). This has a huge effect on the validity of the election.

We have a long history of voter fraud in America. The Kennedy "election" would not have occurred without fraud in Illinois.
There are strong indications of fraud in both the last two elections, so why not expect it to appear again?
Neither party is opposed to trying to manipulate the vote. The republicans do their best to suppress the vote in poor and black areas and the Dems. Will stuff ballot boxes etc. when given the chance.
I am not too concerned about Acorn's voter registration fraud. Registering nonexistent voters is one thing, but actually recording a vote for such fraudulent registrations is much more difficult in most jurisdictions.
The best possible outcome this election would be a major, undisputable victory. Then we need a bipartisan commission to come up with solid voter registration and vote recording mechanism to be implemented nationwide. Including a solid paper trail for every vote cast. In this age of, that should be very easy.

My son's SO had to wait 6 hours in line to vote in 2004 in Ohio because of the limited number of voting machines at her voting location in a suburb of Columbus. However, out in the less populated areas (read Christian Right) there were more machines available without any waiting. Gosh, how could that happen?

If McSame pulls this off (i.e., if the election is stolen...again...) I think that there are others who may have to worry about there being rushes on buildings...there are plenty of libs who own guns (me included) who think that the 2nd Amendment exists in part to overthrow tyrants...

I'm sure I'm already on it Past employment garnered me up both FBI and CIA files (for good reasons ), so it's not like they don't know where to find me! There's an HSA building that popped up near my home a few years ago, too...and now my cell phone gets crappy reception around here. Coincidence?
