i was given a barley used auto loader that was my great grand dads, i took it out a few years ago and was just target shooting with it. and given that it was an older gun i decided i wouldn't hunt with it due to it being in too good of shape. but after shooting the last shell out of it i set it back in the case and drove home not hitting the release button on the side by the trigger to close the evac slider on the side of the gun. now when i hit it nothing happens wont shut. i am wondering where someone would recomend taking it to have it unjammed. or if anyone had experence with autoloaders and have experienced this problem and knows how to fix it . thanks

You should be able to reach inside the action and manualy release the slide, (hold on to the bolt or your your fingers will get pinched.) To do this reach inside the action in the area where your release is and just start pushing. On my Franchi its pretty easy. You may be gummed up or have a broken part. If you can manually release it just spray some oil in the action and work it a little bit.

i will try that again have pushed around in there a bit but never really dug around. i thought mabee gummed up i have cleaned it all out but still jammed i will give manually releasing it again.

I would have to see it. Like huntncoug said watch your damn fingers when you monkey around with it. The tabs that hold the shell to the bolt will cut and stick into your finger. Yes, I know this from experience.
