Sarkasian is following in Slick Rick's footsteps.

Desmond Trufant spills the beans:

And as has been a common theme among visitors, the Saturday evening activities floored Trufant. "I was shocked by what they did," he said of the Huskies' locker room spread and what they showed the recruits. "They acted like it was a real game and they had smoke (in the tunnel) and we ran out of the tunnel. It was nice."

Desmond Trufant's Visit

Here's the rule violation(s) :

13.6.7.9 Activities. An institution may not arrange miscellaneous, personalized recruiting aids (e.g., personalized
jerseys, personalized audio/video scoreboard presentations) and may not permit a prospective studentathlete
to engage in any game-day simulations (e.g., running onto the field with the team during pre-game introductions)
during an official visit.

Running through the tunnel filled with smoke towards the end of January after the season is over is not exactly like running onto the field with the team during PRE-GAME introductions. Just a little of a stretch if you ask me.

Is there a reward if I call in this violation to the Pac 10?

This is way too easy. Okay, they already have the smoke, but where are the mirrors? Would offering recruits free steelhead trips be a violation? grin Just a thought.....

Yeah, but more importantly, did he commit to Washington?

Some of the recruits said they were simulating the LSU game durng their official visit. Others said they got personalized jerseys. Then dawgman edited the stories to try to cover it up.

Kevin Greene a recent USC recruit said he got a personalized jersey with his name on it.

Ole Miss had similar violations a couple of years ago and was put on probation.

i read the article when it first came out and didn't see any of that, i agree just sounds like another jealous cougar fan...wtf are you doing on dawgman? closet fan? rofl

but if it is true...they can spend up to 100 dollars, maybe they get a good deal on jerseys smile

Even if it was a violation who cares. Sark just needs to sit down with the investigators and say, "Hey, that's what we did with every recruit to USC." Which, of course, means everything is cool!

The circumstances of his departure were that his sackless AD didn't stand up for him against a bunch of bullsh!t trumped-up charges about fruit baskets and such.

And when I say "sackless", I mean that in more ways than one.

Desmond Trufant's Visit

I'm sure every coach walks the thin line while recruiting.....WSU included.

But....I can't but feel sorry for this Trufant kid....I've got to give him the benefit of the doubt, that he did not realize he was throwing UW football under the bus, and still verbally commit. I bet he feels bad....

Congrats on landing Desmond....hopefully he makes better choices in the future.
