Behold, a stolen image of a Benelli Montefeltro 20 gauge. (I was too lazy to take a pic, upload, post, upload and re-post so I just stole one for demo purposes) Anyway, I just picked this baby up at Cabela's over the weekend. It takes 2 3/4 or 3" shells. Should make shooting trap alot more fun than my old clunky Remmy 870.

That is a good looking shotgun, kind of looks like a Browning Gold. I have never owned a Benelli, though I have considerd them a couple of times. As far as 20 guage goes...........I have one 20 ga that I use for grouse hunting. Full choke with number 4's or 5's, makes for good head shots. I dont use it for anything else because of similar experiences to seastrike.

Great grouse gun. maybe even a little phesant chasing though I like the 12 as the dog I hunt behind seems to need to be a little to excited sometimes.

Great gun and guage! Good for you! 20's will kill "almost" as well as 12's...the obvious differences are less payload and slower velocities. In trap shooting at the range, screw in a full choke and shoot #8's and you'll do as well as a 12ga at 16yds (I used to shoot 7/8 an 1oz loads thru my 12ga for practice). I've killed em all with a 20ga, and to think of it with my 28ga that I had also. Like most sports, it's all about placement.

Never had an issue killing anything including geese with a 20. Just choose the right load for your gun.

Nice piece, but I would hardly call an 870 clunky.
But then again, I have been known to own many a clunky things.
