Just out of curiousity, what did you use this reel on? I have one that I use for smallmouth bass fishing, but I'm looking at it, wondering about handling a B-run steelhead......Sweet little reels.

Used it on Steelies with 8 lb test. Casts the light stuff really well...better than any other production reel out there. Unfortunately I throw stuff that is so light not even this reel can handle it 100% of the time, so it's back to a spinning rod for me for the light stuff. It is indeed a great little reel.

No worries Stam - great little reel and a good recommendation. Water is just so skinny down here these days with no signs of improvement, I don't think it is fair to expect a casting reel to throw one or two split shot. Nice fish, BTW. NCD.
