This guy was my geology professor for a couple of courses I took at Western. Flame away, but I think he makes more sence than most of the idiots on TV......
Google "Don Easterbrook" and "global cooling" for more than you ever wanted to know smile
Ten years from now I'm going to look back and time will be the judge, but for now I think he's on track. More than all of the sheep anyway! Just look outside! smile
Cheers,
Neal

Neal,
I have read this before and there does seem to be a close relationship between sun spots and temps(closer than CO2). Not a very popular oppinion in todays world and I am surprised he is still teaching. I think this is a good thing with all the histeria out there with CO2 though(right or wrong) because we have ruined far to much of our world. As he stated, only time will tell.

I agree doc, either way we DO have a huge impact on this earth which we should minimize as much as we can. My only real point is that we don't know as much as the media or some of the experts would have us think.... Data can be twisted and viewed in many different ways.
Cheers,
Neal

Unfortunately, no one can predict which one wins out:

a) Mother Nature's cyclic event of global cooling.

vs

b) Man made factors influencing artificial rise in global temperatures due to CO2, etc.

We know A happens and will happen. We also know that B is happening and we're doing little to stop it.

What we don't know are the true global effects of B.

Honestly, I don't think anyone in our lifetimes will or could know. Now, those poor SOB's 200 years from now might have a different opinion on the issue.....

To me, it all boils down to how you want to leave this planet for your children and your children's children.

Look at it this way. If we are three or four times more successful at slowing global cooling/or warming as we are at preventing the extinction of our own little world of wild fish...........we're faucked.

They used twisted science to manipulate our fisheries for politics.

They are using the same strategies to back up there agendas supporting the new cash cow global warming.

Only a fool would deny that we need to do a lot better taking care of our planet.

I just do not like being lied to.
