Cool! Any word on whether or not they have solved the slow factor?

Have you tried one of the higher end memory cards in the older model? Seems like they write a bit faster than the std ones. Probably a processor thing though. I nearly bought one at the Circuit City Demise sale. They had them for a good price, despite a few downsides, still sweet to get the under water photos and not have to worry about ruining it every time it rains.

I suspect this camera will also be on the "slow" side of things, as the brains of the camera are the same.

Not a big deal, but not the camera to use if you want that sequence of shots that shows the jumping tarpon or marlin.

But, for a grip-n-grin in the rain on the OP, it's a great camera.

If anything, I'm just considering it a MP upgrade. I still would recommend any of the Olympus cameras to a fisherman. Indestructible, waterproof, and it just works without the fear of messing up the camera.

I just got mine and hopefully will get some photos with it on Tuesday. I'll put up a review of it when I get back.
