Thought I'd put up another post. I'm looking for some Kunnan salmon/steelhead rods and kunnan flyrods. I'm looking for Brown and Charcoal blanks only. (I hate green blanked Kunnans) I've picked up a few (I've even bought some UNFISHED ones with shrinkwrapped cork and kunnan labels on it). If you have any laying around you don't use, let me know. Or if you know of someone who has some he doesn't use have them email me with what they got. Thanks...
I figured I might as well put this in now, I've rec'd some offers that were decent priced, but some that were WAY out of price. Ok, I've bought quite a few, some off ebay, some off here, and a couple at swap meets. The most I paid for a rod was $90 for a salmon/steelhead baitcaster. It was a bit too much for rod, but I wanted it so I cringed and sent money off. I love the rod, just was too much for it. Here's the price ranges. A good fly rod, unfished, fetches around $30-$45, and that's bidding on ebay. Salmon/steelhead unfished fetches a bit more, $45-$60. If it's used, or well fished, you can drop a few dollars off that. Kunnan's aren't collectors rods, it's basically a rod bought out of love, not out of profit. Osprey has seen my Kunnan's (he was there when my brand new, never used, all shrink wrap Kunnan came in the mail) and I keep my rods to fish, not display or resell. Fenwicks, Gloomis's, and Lami's can fetch a high bounty, as of right now Kunnan's won't. I just want to stop people who email me with extraordinary prices for rods that I've paid a helluva lot less for. Some people seem to think that if it's still new and there's a price tag that they can run price up, but since Kunnan is only loved buy those who fish them, you're rarely going to get a high price for it. Now, if you went on ebay with an old fenglass Fenwick, old stickers and unfished with tube and sock, you'll fetch a high price. This was just an FYI, I'm not out here to steal rods, but I know the worth and even though they're not produced anymore doesn't mean they're worth lots of money. (I remember alot of people calling them garbage rods even to this day, it's basically you love em or you hate em. I just so happen to love them and want to build up my collection so in case I break a rod, I'll have one in reserve to use since I can't just send it in for replacement). If you have a Kunnan you don't use, or know of someone who does, let me know. I won't (and really can't either) pay lots of money for them. This is a labor of love, not of greed. So, only part with a rod if you want to sell it, not to make a huge profit on it. Those of you who use their Kunnan's know what I'm talking about, you have them you use them. So thanks, hope I don't sound condescending, but I want to clarify some things. I've had way too many emails that were way out of price range. Hohwaiin, I'm still interested in your rods, yours were just about in price range, I just have to look at them. Take care all, and see you on the rivers.....Tight lines and thanks again......
