I need to sell off my sled. I'm asking 2 prices, all depends on how you want to buy the boat. Let me tell you what I have and explain what I mean on selling. Let me start by telling you this is an awesome boat for 2 fisherman, but I've fished 4 in this boat. You'll be buying it just in time for the salmon season.
First off, it's a 14' Valco sled. No, this isn't a cheap riveted boat that you see or have heard about valco. This is a welded sled that's 6' wide at the beam. It's a very stable boat. It's heavy duty aluminum, but I can't tell you the gauge. It's built exactly like a woolridge alaskan. I mean identical. Had front windshield that'a walkthrough. It's equipt with a 75 evinrude pump that has a new impellor in it. Has forward speed/steering controls. Has a 13 gallon tank and a 6 gallon reserve in rear. has three big storage boxes on transom where gas tanks are and storage for equiptment and such. has a forward seat that double as a fishbox and more storage. Has a big river anchor and hand winch on bow. Has built in horn and has removable running lights. Has bilge pump and everything to make it coast guard approved (at least I'm sure it does). I do believe that's about it. Except it does have a lowering bracket for a kicker. I am throwing in an older johnson kicker, maybe about a 4 horse that needs work. I'm not a small engine mechanic, so could be something small (I know the wires need to be rehooked back up.) It is on an older easyloader trailer that has guideons and bunkrollers. Also has an older hummingbird fishfinder that actually works. It's the old round dial ones. Won't work at full bore, but if you're putting along or anchored up it reads great.
Now, here's the deal. I was about to go through all the hassle to do some work to it. If I do the work, the price goes up. If you want to buy the boat at the lower price and do the work yourself (I know it can be done cheaper if you have the resources) then you'll gain.
Here's what's wrong with the boat. First off, you can fish the boat like it is. I have been. It needs to have rest of paint stripped off it (when I originally bought it the guy painted it multicolored) and either 1 repainted or 2 left in aluminum color. It needs the front bench replaced. Just a piece of plywood is what's there now. I have the two swivel seats that go on the bench. Then, the floor plywood piece needs replaced, or you can go without it all together. I do have the top that goes on the boat. It needs to be restitched or you can have a new one made. I was just going to have it restitched. That's all that's wrong with the boat, and actually it's perfectly fishable like it is unless you need a "pretty" boat to fish out of and a full canvas top. Hell, I only used the top once or twice before the seems popped.
The big thing that needs to be replaced is the rear strut on back end of trailer. The trailer is very sturdy but the rear bracket is rusting through and needs to be replaced. I've priced out tubular steel to replace it and it's not that expensive. It's just the beam. The trailer has some pock rust, but nothing major.
Give me a call and you can see the boat. I'd prefer to sell without having to do all the work. In fact, I know a guy who has an easyloader trailer that he had rebuilt that he's selling for $500 if you want to just replace the trailer. But replacing the rear strut is much cheaper then buying another trailer.
My number is 253-952-3594 and ask for Jerry or send me an email. I love this boat but my family has really outgrown it and I need to step up to a bigger boat.
Besides that the boat is great. Ask Os and anyone else on the board who's seen my boat. It's a great boat that is perfect for smaller rivers. I've used it on the Satsop, Chehalis, Wynoochee, Humptulips, and many other rivers around the NW.
Now, if you want to buy the boat and do all the work yourself, I'll sell it for $3500, if I do all the work myself, then price goes up to $4000. After this weekend the price goes up. I'll start working on it this sunday evening. The prices are negotiable on both prices.
