How can anybody defend the R's and anything about the GW administration? I mean come on!

What crimes against America DIDN'T they commit? Just look where we are and ask yourself how we got here.

If I were an R and I supported GW I would look for someplace lonely.

The shame!

The horror!

And the shame and horror of the irresponcible spending of the Obama Administration to accually believe that giving bailout money the the companies that got us in this situation in the first place. What a shame.
It doesn't matter if you are a Dem or a Rep, you can't fish a broken economy by throwing more money into the pockets of the ones who ripped you off in the first place.

The government got nothing for the bailout money except a lifetime of debt.

Our countries pathetic economy is 99% due to a housing bust. We built too fast because the housing market was de-regulated in an effort to make more americans homeowners.
THOSE PEOPLE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BUY A HOME.

If you can't manage your money enough to save a 20% down payment, why on earth should you try to finance something you can't afford.

"Suppy and Demand"

Economics 101

We have too many houses on the market therefore the value of the houses is in the tank. If the Government would have taken the 1 trillion dollars it gave to the banking industry and bought up houses that were in forclosure. They have taken a huge dent in the supply of houses on the market and had something liquid for their money. Taking those houses off the market woud then create less supply. That would stabilize the market. and create a demand for homes.
As the economy began to stabilize, the government could either rent those houses to the people that cant afford to buy them, or hold them and slowly introduce them back into the market as it gains demand. It really is simple Economics. You don't have to be a Republican or a Democrat to be smart enough to see the wayste of money that is continued to be thrown away.

People keep saying "thrown away"...someone is on the recieving end of those checks, the money isn't just being "thrown away" it's being stolen.

Stolen? My wife and I each just received notice that we will be getting $250 a piece as part of the stimulus package because we are both disabled veterans. I don't consider either one of us a thief.

I was talking about the funds that were used to "bail out" the banking industry, I doubt that you or your wife are theives.

I'm going to have to keep "bailing out" the economy seperate from "stimulizing" the economy, what was I thinking...

$250 WOW! What a slap in the face to a Disabled Veteran. That is all you are worth to the Government? The services you provided and the losses you incured are being snubbed.

Some hotshot bankers are getting millions in retention bonuses so they will stay at work and keep robbing you of your kids chances to earn a living.

KK,
In 2000, you had to have a 750-800 credit score, 20% down payment and show proof of income to buy a home.

Who's wonderful idea was it to write loans with 0% down and interest only for an unemployed person with a stated income?
That's not very smart, but yet it was done day after day. Those people who wrote those loans should be hung. They are the thieves.

Is there someone else in this forum besides KK who honestly feels the housing market was not de-regulated so everyone could become a homeowner! I believe Bill Clinton preached those words like Gospel.
