Had a chance to get a little color up on the shop today.

Stain goes on the cedar tomorrow, along with the trim paint.

It will be nice to be done with the shop tomorrow!

Here is the progression.

Just a bit of blood, sweat, and literally tears involved in the completion of this project.

Nice work there DF. Now you know a true mancave is never really finished, it's good enough for now, always room for little improvements.
Looks great though, good colors. Nice to have the weather to get it done without worrying about the R word messin things up.

Dogfish,

It's lookin' really good! Great minds must think alike. I used cedar shingles on my gable ends as well. Stained them last weekend. I'm also using a green paint color. Not being a banker, I'm using a lighter, sage shade of green. I still don't have my garage doors, but they should arrive this week or next. I got the garage attic painted, but haven't got the main part done yet. Since the weather has been so nice, it seems more sensible to do exterior painting. Got a couple more walls on the house done yesterday and today.

How's the house coming Andy? My drywallers are finished, got it textured and primed, so it's ready for paint too. Cabinets are supposed to arrive Friday, but I won't really be ready by then. Definitely don't have enough discretionary time lately. And fishing, . . . what's that?

Cabinets and doors arrive Thursday. Drywall skim coat will be done tomorrow, so I can put some PVA up in the house Monday evening in time for them to texture Tuesday. Gotta love an airless sprayer, whole interior PVA'd in an evening. All windows are already masked. As hot as it is, I'll probably lose another few pounds tomorrow evening. Who knows, maybe I'll get below 180 lbs. My tan is killer, and it is only May. Hope to turn a few heads out fishing this summer. wink

I'll follow behind the texuture with a light coat of PVA, then start on ceilings throughout, then hit the walls near all entrances in time for the doors.

Stained the cedar today and worked on painting the exterior trim on the shop. Probably two hours left on the shop and the exterior will be done completely. Just about ready for final inspection on the shop! It will be nice to check one building off the list.

Of course after the house is done, I'll build a chicken/quail/pheasant house and an enclosure for them. Already have the wood and the tools.

BTW, I haven't touched a fishing rod since February.

I have grass, and an 1/8th mile race track. What more do I need? That'll be it for landscaping until next year.

Not to be nitpicky on an excellent job but why did you put the outside lights in the front at different heights from the ground? I see they are the same distance down from the tops of the garage doors. Can I still visit some day?

I think you answered your own question. If he put the ones on the right at the same height as the ones on the left they would be almost directly in line with the trim at the top of the door. IMO it is personal preference as to the height of the fixture in that location. That is just one of the issues with having two different heights of doors on one face of a structure.

I like the colors Andy.

Yes you can visit Jerry. 3' from the top of the doors.

If we decide we don't like it, the ones on the taller door are easy to drop down by cutting out a new spot, then placing a new hardy plank board where the lights are. There is no insulation or drywall behind there. We pondered that one for a while, then settled on same distance from the top.

A beer in one hand and some BBQ'd ribs in the other hand and I don't see the lights.
