Just wondering....

I was out fishing that way yesterday morning, heard all about it on the radio...funny part is that it's most likely some local dingbats who think they own the whole world...rednecks...who knocked the towers over and tried to pin it on the ELF...the locals haven't liked the way the tower ruins their God-given view for something like 12 years...

Fish on...

That's not what I've been hearing on the news locally...I've been hearing that it was local landowners who didn't like the privately owned towers, on private property, and properly permitted, disrupting their view of the valley...

Funny how they're all about private property rights...until they're not.

While I think it's obvious to point out that the local news/authorities probably know more about it than the press in San Fran...there's virtually no consideration to the ELF claim...the investigation is completely being focused on the neighbors who have been in a twelve year battle over the towers...

Like I said...all about private property...so long as it's their's, and not someone else's...

I do ignore it...for exactly the reason you said...just like any other terrorist organization, they take credit for whatever they can...especially when they didn't do it.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Hank,

There's no requirement to pretend to know who's responsible at this point.

You're allowed to wait until the investigation is complete before deciding who to blame for it.

Why come back to take your lumps, when you could just wait to see what's found during the investigation?

Wait? Are you kidding?

These days the sunrise can be twisted into a political event...with someone getting credit, and someone getting blame.

The dude is lucky he didn't die... AM Broadcast towers ARE antennas: they are powered. You cannot simply walk up and touch one: you will likely die.

The guy wires are typically tensioned to only 10% of their capacity. I'm curious to see how it was pulled off: not easy to "pull" one down without it landing on you...

Next month I "may" be removing a 10,000lb 78ft tall antenna from the top of a 1500ft broadcast radio tower.

Congratulations?? rofl

From what I was hearing yesterday while I was up there, it did fall on him, but he was in an enclosed cab excavator, which saved his ass...but totally bashed up the $400K machine.

I'm not so sure I have ill feelings for the perp yet. It sounds like KRKO put up these transmitter towers and don't give a rat's ass about the interference it's having on everyone who lives nearby, and presumably occupied the area before KRKO installed the antennas. I'd be pissed if my phone, garage door openers, wireless security system, wifi, and maybe even TV cable didn't work at my house after the "neighbor" put up a powerful antenna. When it comes to property rights, KRKO's end at the edge of their property line, and the neighbor's begins at theirs. I think property rights includes the right of having the above mentioned equipment and services working properly on one's own property and not malfuntioning due to the effects caused by operations on the neighbor's (KRKO) property.

How's that for a property rights argument?

I know I wouldn't like it...but I don't think I'd pull it down with an excavator, either! We are, after all, still a nation of laws.

Yeah, I guess I'm old-fashioned that way...not scared, don't like lawbreakers...clearly wouldn't make it in the RNC.

True, we're a nation of laws, but when the the law treats the rich and powerful different than the rest of us, justice outside the law is made necessary. Up the revolution!
