One thing I'm curious about: Can the Feds legally require someone to purchase health insurance? Like the article says, the states currently require everyone to carry auto insurance but that is to protect other people's property from your negligence. I'm not too sure that the Feds can really do that legally.

I don't know if health insurance can be mandated, but I have a hard time seeing how it will work unless everyone is in the pool. On second thought, we already have mandated payments into the federal health care program: Medicare and Medicaid payments are witheld from my paycheck, and I get no benefit from either of them. I see how mandatory will work.
