Is the AR15 an A1 or A2 model and what length is the barrel and foregrip? I would be interested if it is the A2 model!

the side of the gun reads "Colt sporter target model cal. .223 " I don't see A1 or a2 anywhere on it. It is a standard length gun, not the short "paratrooper" model. the barrlel looks like 21" with flash hider, the fore grip 11 1/2" The front of the barrel reads "MP 5.56 NATO 1/7"

P.s. I hate to sell it, it is really cool but I need the $ to buy boat parts. Sitting here looking at it really gives me second thoughts.

Sounds to me like it is actually an AR-15. As stated by gun man, the M-16 A1 and A2 are the true military versions capable of automatic fire. The AR-15 is the civilian equivalent, but only fires in the semi-automatic mode.

The A-2 whether in AR-15 or m-16 is easy to tell by the rear sight. The A-2 is adjustable to 800 meters. The A-1 has a little wheel adjustment knob on the right side, with little holes in it for placing the bullet tip for sight adjustment. (or adjustment tool) The A-1 also has a smaller gas tube which leaves the carry handle and goes up the forgrip to the front sight. A-2 is larger allowing better gas flow.

Usually it will say AR-15 on the side of the receiver. Target sporter, match target etc.
The M- series are illegal to own by private parties in the state of Washington. Due to selective fire.

Regardless an AR in the $900.00 price range is a steal. Just as long as it is not an Olympic arms or other clone.

Hope this helps.

HB--- totally forgot about the sights Thanks, sounds like the A2 model, also the A1 has the tri-angler foregrip and the A2 the 2 piece round. If A2-- 825.00 cash and she's sold! Also have 5 or 6 assorted Loomis steelhead rods for addl. part trade? Email me at fish4steel@msn.com

Little Fish, the remmington is not stainless, I wouldn't buy a stainless target rifle, the metal is softer than the regular steel therefore the throat will get shot out sooner. My hunting rifle is stainless but it only gets about 15 rounds through it a year. It weighs 10.8 lbs. on my digital fish scale.
