I'm reading that there are provisions within the Patriot act(s) & BARDA that provide for manditory vaccination in the event of a declared national health emergency.

I've read that some of the agents contained within the new Swine flu vaccines can be very harmful, espcecially to high risk groups of people such as the young, elderly, and people with pre-existing conditions.

Could we see a scenario form where a widespread breakout occurs and the masses are forced to become vaccinated against their will? ...and you could be arrested and detained without warrant if you refuse?

It's damn near state law in that freakland Massechusetts.

I don't think so, but it seems like the Federal Government could force us into becomning vaccinated by law if they chose to.

I'm trying to socialize/discuss an important topic that will certainly intensify over the next month or two as the flu season approaches, and as the vaccines become available.

Before trying to turn this thread into your own little private circus, try reading up on the questions I have posed.

The government can have huge powers during declared emergencies, forced immunizations would be a small part.

And sure as hell should be !

I was serious about the school innoculations - some form of local, state or federal gov't shot us up as children. we lined up like sheep at the nurses office and there was no Patriot Act enforcing what happened then. we will be learning all kinds of interesting things over the next few years about what the PA allows the gov to do under a "state of emergency"

I agree with What Dr. Paul stated in that vid. yet, there seems to be some type of facist scheme brewing between the Pharmco's and Government.

Distributing untested drugs illegally, aided and abetted by a government that is behaving immorally, and intending to distribute the vaccines under an immoral government indemnity that makes them immune to lawsuits and exempts Pharmco's from due diligence in testing.

It's crazy.

anytime a government "has to protect national interests" in the form of railroaded legislation, i think of totalitarian regimes of the 20th century. a cursory inspection of history shows how well other governments did with their call of patriotism for the father/motherland. i am sickened by the media scare tactics that further these bullshoot agendas let's scrap the system and start over.

I dont trust the pharm companies, nor the monies they are slipping to politicians. There are just too many "Fast Track" approvals for pharmaceutical drugs. Every hiccup or shift in the tide of human condition has been parried by a pharmaceutical "solution".

Ever since my little brothers drumming on the desk in 5th grade prompted a healthy and immediate prescription for ridlin, I have been very weary of how many new drugs are out there. If the government takes on health care will Novavax be the new Halliburton?

Honestly, if you're in good health, not pregnant, and don't have any health complications, and in the age group of 25-55, probably better off just getting the flu now and get it over with.

I always get my annual flu-shot and will probably get the swine flu vaccine as well. Wouldn't really bother me if I got the flu - other than flu's suck for a couple of days. At least I could ignore all the FearMongering that is being spread by CNN and other new agencies.

Seriously though, I don't see the gov. forcing anyone to take the vaccines unless this thing reallly starts hammering people to the point that hospitals can't care for everyone. If it gets to that point, I say it would be a good thing to make everyone get vaccinated.

At first I was against getting the vaccines but after talking with my kid's pediatrician, who I trust, I am going to get my family vaccinated. I have an infant, a 3year old, and a 5 year old. I will take the chance that the vaccine is better than being wiped out by the flu. It's really a tough call to make because I would like to see more research done on the vaccine and we don't know the long term effects.

Epidemic or not, I don't plan on losing one of my kids to a flu bug when I coulda gotten them a vacination for it. Not that I think getting the swine flu is a death sentance but some kids have died and its not a chance I am willing to take.

My decision comes from talking with my kids doc, not the media.

And you'll have a strange compulsion to face Mecca 4 times a day.
