Bummer...he was a heck of a nice fella, tipped back many beers several times with him at a little hole in the wall in Chehalis when I used to live down there...

Fish on...

Todd

Crazy thing was, he wasn't all that old and he was pretty active. But when you're an hour and a half away from the nearest town when something like that happens, all the CPR in the world won't help you, as was the case.

That sucks. Not only great beer, but a hell of a deli, too.

Any word on what happens with the brewery? Will family continue?

RIP Dick. He brewed some great barley wine.

Good beer and sausage. Always went there to make deer into pepperoni. Still have a "Dick's Beer" bottle opener on my keychain.

Dick's Danger Ale for me. RIP

No word yet. I'm told he was planning on getting re-married in the next couple weeks.

In typical fashion, the local papers haven't even covered this. Not surprising since their reporters are just computers far away now days.

Unless the family decides to sell out, the beer will continue. They just expanded back in '07.

Just talked to a family member and they're saying aortic anerism(sp?).
All the CPR in the world would'nt of helped and he would have died if he was laying on the operating room table.

Dick gave me the first job I ever had. I would spend hours grinding and smoking sausage and then get to try his latest brew. Those were the days before his liquor lisence when you "donated" to get a beer with your sandwich.

Dick's daughter Julie is pretty sharp. I'm willing to bet the buisness will be fine.
