Skookum Steelheader II
The Steelheader II is a whitewater grade catacraft. 1 or 2 man versions capable of carrying over 1,500 lbs.
The Package I bought from Bill Day (Skookum)
12 ft 20" pontoons. 3800/5500 denier, 50 oz. PVC material- UV protected, 150 oz. Seams. 8 D-rings per pontoon
FRAME Length 61” x Width 51” Weight 45 lbs. Steel galvanized whitewater frame. Replaceable Halkey Robert style valves – Upgraded Cataract oars, oar rights, locks – 3 Skidguard floor and rear deck. 2 Flip down padded swivel seat with stainless steel hardware – Cam straps – patch kit –Air pump, hose, and adapter. Heavy Duty Anchor System: Ratchet Pulley Cleat & Stainless & Delrin Swivel. This system will hold an 18ft drift boat. Front padded Lean bar.
I added:
Extra Steel galvanized whitewater frame sections so you can make a wider more stable craft and use the 9 ft oars. I built 3 larger non-skid floors and made a larger padded leaning bar. Basically I made it more versatile. You can run it by yourself or with 2 people in the smaller standard width or the wider more stable width. The front section of the frame for the 2nd person for both options is detachable if you go by yourself. 2 9' Carlisles break-down oars $114. 2 Blades $80. Oar Rights $23.Oar Locks $40. 7 foot Cataract Mini magnum 2 piece oars $160. LVM Whirlwind Inflator/Deflator 12-volt inflator/deflator. $39.50. Anchor and rope $40 . I also made a cedar deck for the back so you can add more stuff. I’m probably leaving out some stuff but everything you'll ever need is there– rod holders, straps etc…
$2500.00 (sounds like a lot but I put a lot more into it. Everything is still practically brand new) See Skookum.com for Photos. I’ll try to take some the next time I get it set up if I ever use it again. First baby at home, my brother bought a drift boat, another brother has a 14ft raft and my fishing buddy has a new jet sled. I just don’t use it.
We need new carpet and a Kitchen countertop if anyone is willing to make a fair trade. obmukilteo@earthlink.net.
