oh i shaved my head too...been a llllllooong time since i did that.
i do miss fishing though....thinking about coming back in a month or so for some natives.

Nice slabs. That looks like so much fun.
I agree, that it is just as easy to get hooked on a board sport as it is on fishing. I probably think/ more about skim/surf/sup/windsurf more than I think about fishing right now. There are a lot of the same elements, you get to be on the water, you're always looking at new better gear, you are always looking for prime conditions.
Good Stuff.

I'm looking into a stand up paddle board for this summer. I think it might be pretty good for the WA coast since you don't have to dangle in the water, theoretically you should stay warmer. I am going to try and find one with a mast track so I can sail it in the waves as well.

The woman caught me posting the chick pics... Try in YOUR mind going through trying to explain why you would be posting pics of half naked chicks... But more importantly HOW did I get those pics.... Very fun and engaging conversation. But since I'm a crowd pleaser and stubborn as a retard with crayolas.... I will look through my 'secret' folder if beach pics.

sick video bah!!!! yeha stand up is a gas once you got it down. really easy to go very far in the water without much energy. just start super big board...cruiser type. then if your gonna try surfing on it scale down comfortably. getting to small of a board can be VERY frustrating ( i did it ) but otherwise its really a cool way to explore the same things you do in a totally different way. i wouldnt be surprised if people started paddling down rivers that you fish on soon. on the right board ( barring any gnarley rapids) you could "theoretically" do it. but even just waterways, the columbia, and lakes. its really a lot of fun. you'd be very surprised how far you can go on those things without ever tiring. as far as getting wet....the learning curve is different for most folks but with a big enough board....a few hours? a few weeks to be really comfortable with it...which is why they are very dangerous surfing. long conversation there. but if i ever moved back i would buy one the first day back and take it everywhere.

I hear you about the size of the SUP. It is not something I would paddle out into a lineup with lay-down surfers. That big board would be like a cruise missile if I fell off in a crowded line up. There is so much water in WA state that is empty I should be able to explore lots of places. Just imagine dropping in at Rialto beach and paddling north along that coastline, stopping at every reefbreak and good beach break you come to. That would be a fun trip.
I already can think of a few places I would try fishing off of one. In regards to rivers that is already blowin' up in areas popular for kayaking. Here is a video of a guy on an old sailboard cruising right into a standing wave (I like it cause he uses the Black Keys). Just Google it, they are riding them over waterfalls.
