the rumor buzz is Rush will play in the closing festivities. Cool. Honestly, they couldn't be any worse than when The Who played the Superbowl halftime show.

I also wouldn't discount their ability to suck worse than the Who did at the Super Bowl...I mean, they've sucked far more than the Who for their entire careers.
That being said...a Canadian friend of mine told me yesterday that she heard that Rush was supposed to play in the opening ceremonies, but that someone decided rock music wasn't appropriate after the death of the luger...which is kinda weird, I guess.

The Olympics are in Canada, so they need Canadian artists...it's not like there's a ton of 'em around  I think they should invite The Guess Who and they can sing American Woman at the closing ceremonies. Fish on... Todd

but I listen to Canadien Radio - I find their music variety more betta.

The Olympics are in Canada, so they need Canadian artists. If they needed an old burnt out Canadian artist they could have had Leonard Cohen. His music would have been fine for a mournful Opening Ceremony too. they had canadian artist K.D.Lang sing one of his songs in the opening ceremony so he was almost there.
