I need your help, please.

I have a Smokercraft Alaskan 14', with 25 hp Merc, and it has a great condition painted Shoreland'r trailer (well-built, by the way). I plan to use the boat extensively in the Sound, and want to buy a galvanized trailer and sell the painted trailer.

There seem like a few selections out there for galvanized trailers. I need one about 1000# capacity. The trailers I'm considering (so far) are:

King
Roadrunner
EZ Loader
Shoreland'r

It seems to me each of these trailers seems to have its own unique strength(s) or weakness(es). Any comments about the above, suggestions of others, or any other insight you can give me in to galvanized trailers?

Thanks a ton for your help!

Richard

Make sure the tongue is long enough so that you don't have trouble jacknifeing your rig when backing.

you should get a trailor with bunks on it ,they are better on a alum.boat, rollers may damage the bottom and couse it to leak.Good luck

With a boat that small and light, any of the trailers you mentioned should work fine. I would look for the best deal and see if you can get some extas thrown in (berring buddies, spare tire and carrier, tie down straps, etc...). If you plan on launching at a sling launch be reminded that many will not launch bunk trailers. Make sure you hose it off after each use and it should last you a long time!

I have had several of both Easy Loaders and a King. I liked the King a bit better. Both will serve you just fine. Good luck... FishNgKing
