Its so surreal. One afternoon my best friend comes over to stop by for a baby shower and have a beer with me. Today I find out something happened to him while he was out cutting down trees last night. Not sure what exactly happened.
I cherish the times we spent at Mora and camping over at Lake Chelan doing water-sports. Way too young and full of energy. He was all psyched to go to wake boarding school next week in Florida.
I pray for his kids and family.

Thanks. I hope his kids, mom, and sis get through this okay. I know he has cousins in Grays Harbor too. His dad passed away a few years ago after he saw me in the hospital when I had my heart surgery. My buddy had open heart a couple of years before me.
I'm still hoping I wake up in the morning and this is a bad dream.

sometimes you need to get over the "he/she passed away syndrome once you realize that you were honored with their presence to begin with and that the time they spent here was a slight miracle with in itself
i used to mourn good friends and family until i realized that the fact that they had lived at all , greatly overshadowed the fact that they had died
remember your friend for who he/she was not for what is gone

Jackie Robinson said something like " A man's life is imporatnt only in the impact it has on others"
It is the life we live that is impotant; the legacy we create by influencing friends, family, and if we are very lucky, the world.
My prayers to the family, too.

Sorry for your loss, I also recently lost a good friend. As was stated above, live every day, it has made me do some serious thinkin. Make sure you live to the fullest EVERY day, tell the ones ya love that you love them, we just never know.

I'm really glad that we spent some time with his family tonight. Finally starting to feel some closure. Talking to others is very therapeutic for all. I guess we were blessed by his presence and he would want us to carry on with a celebration of his life. Time to gather up some pictures for a slide show.
Thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers.
