I thought I would start a thread about movies that might not be mainstream. I am allways looking for something "far out" .

I'll start:

Blue Velvet: a totally F'd up film by David Lynch. creepy ass flick but I liked it. Dennis Hopper was incredible! "don't you look at me!"

Killing Zoe: Herion addicted bank robbers. Bathroom scene threw me off.......

American me. Umm, wow. If you like a lot of prison sex scenes this is your movie....Jtard?. should have been titled "Mexican IN Me"

Dark Days: Documentary about Homeless that live under the NY subway system. very cool and eye opening

Here's three most of you probably havent heard of, all on my disturbing and somewhat weird list:

Jacobs Ladder, 1990, starring Tim Robbins. Very Creepy flick

Requiem for a dream, 2000, - plot is Drug use gone crazy, very disturbing, Director nailed telling the story.

The Salton Sea- 2002 Val Kilmer- Wife is murdered and Val drifts into a world of Thugs and Speed freaks. Very Weird and disturbing. Good production on this flick.

The Serpent and the Rainbow

Donnie Darko

The Dark Crystal (weird children's movie)

Raising Arizona

(Skyguy, Requiem for a Dream was brutal. If I remember correctly was that the movie where he fished his heroin supository out of the "worst public toilet in Scotland"?)

jacob's ladder was out there but loved it!

I have been meaning to see the other 2.

Stir of echoes was a cool/outthere one.

Apocolypse now was another weird one....loved it.

dark crystal was weird. try watership down. political animation. saw both at a double feature when I was a kid. didn't really grasp the meaning of either.

Check out "Freaks" if you haven't seen it. Old B&W movie with real circus show oddities.

Kurosawa's Dreams

Pan's Labyrinth

I was talking the original 1970's version of Wizards of gore. Not the remake.

Yeah, "Gummo" that fits, alot of these are pretty mellow.

Try "Happiness"

There are some others that have scarred me that I can't remember title's to that would fit the bill, I'll clear some cobwebs and get back.

Ditto "Freaks" and "Eraserhead"

Weirdest western: "South of Heaven, West of Hell" (2000)

Director- Dwight Yoakum

Starring- Vince Vaughn, Billy Bob Thornton, Paul Reubens, Dwight Yoakum, Bridget Fonda, Peter Fonda

Reviews of this movie were characterized as "generally unfavorable".

One reviewer described the movie as a miserable western that is clearly headed downward toward the latter destination.

Weird and really bad are qualities not usually associated with a Western. Miss it if you can!

Your thinking of Trainspotting, a weird and disturbing look into heroin addiction.
