No... not
kind of bow...
The stick flingin' type.
So, I was getting ready to send Bob/FishGal some $$ for my recent classified usage, and thought, hum...what about seeing what I could get for one of my backup bows from back in the day, and give whatever the highest bidder offers, to Bob instead?
SO, what I have is a practically new (old) Oregon Black Knight. Company owner died in a plane crash scouting for elk... company went t1ts up after that due to some poor money management skills.
One of Oregon's investors, John Strasheim, went on to start BowTech in '99, also located in Junction City. Lots of positive comments in an Archery Talk forum thread here:
Oregon Black Knight Specs are:
Oregon Black Knight
Cast riser
60-70# draw
Draw length 29" (spec sticker says 30", but I'm pretty sure I swapped modules with one of my competition bows)
41" axle - axle
7" brace height
*** IBO speed of 335 fps!
94 ft/lbs of kenetic energy
(Oregon made claims of it being the fastest bow in the world, and offered up $10K to anyone with a faster bow. I have a few posters, and magazine articles in the garage...somewhere...)
It was a backup, and I know that no more than 2 doz. arrows were shot from this thing. It's been in a case its entire life.
Shameless bone shots
Next to a competition model...
Here are the rules:
*Bow for Bob will run until through 10:00 a.m., 5/6/2010 (my next day off)
*Buyer responsible for actual shipping costs (or p/u in Orygun)
*ALL of highest offer goes to Bob and FishGal... make it huge
