They may have been fishing there, but it didn't open until Memorial week-end which would have been Saturday May 24. I was at my house near the mouth of the Green on the 17th getting all geared up for it. It would have been the first year of a springer return. I caught a few the year before. I came back home to Lacey that night. Didn't get back to Maple Flats for about 2 weeks. My house was still there surrounded by mud but all 12 houses or so across the road were gone. Only one foundation remained. Where they had been was and still is river bottom.

If we are talking about the same 3 guy,s, they were poaching the Green River. They all worked at the Satsop nuc site. They asked me and a couple of my fishing buddy,s if we wanted to go, we all said that it didn,t like a real smart thing to do, and it wasn,t. Two of them got burnt bad and the 3rd one is still in the Green River.
