I'm happy to see France leave the series. They would not let us fly through thier air space during my military service.

The French are folding in discrace.

Kudos to South Africa! Making the world more aware of the talent of all folks.

Biggest game of the series coming Friday....

Brazil vs Portugal... Some true talent on the field that day!

Don't miss it!

Managed to catch the important final minutes of the USA game this morning. Wow, what a finish!

On the radio I heard it was hopeless for the US with one minute to go, then an update: US scores in final minute. Pretty cool, and not too common in soccer.

They actually scored in the 91st minute. They had 3 minutes of stoppage time left. It was amazing to pull that off with basically no time to spare.

The US team was absolutely pounding on goal for most of the 2nd half but couldn't get one in the net until the very end.

Again, US had a goal stolen my a crappy ref. Where do they find these guys?

OK, let me guess here, sports fans Stam and Grizz1 would last about how many minutes on the treadmill?

Soccer does't kill me like NASCAR and golf but at the same time, this is how much of America feels about the sport.

I've been up early to watch matches before heading to work. I've watched more soccer since the cup started than I have in my life. I saw most of the 1st half of the US - Algeria match. They had some good shots at a goal but couldn't put it in the net.
I wonder what the N. Korean coach said to Kim Jong Il to explain why his team lost to Portugal 7 - 0.

You can easily tell who's injured or not by the amount of complete rolls they do after being touched. Zero rolls and they're hurt, 7 or 8 and they'll be up in no time. F'n Italians are giving the game a bad name with the casual viewer. They don't dive like that in the Serie A but make a meal of it when playing for their country.

FIFA should review these games along with the top leagues around the world and start fining the people who embellish when being tackled. 5 or 10k for taking a dive would get rid of the problem pretty quick. Or review and give them a yellow after the fact. Too many accumulated yellow's and they end up missing a game as it stands. Tack on a few more for diving and they'll figure it out.

It's the only real suggestion I've heard of that might work to get rid of the nonsense.

Go Germany!

I love soccer, love the World Cup, have played soccer all my life....

You have to admit there is not a bigger bunch of whining, flailing, diving, dramatic, babies that act like 13 year old girls anytime they make contact with another player.

Yes, all teams in all divisions.

What I really hate is how a player will come in from behind, kick the legs out from another player, and then raise their hands as if they didn't do anything, and then cry to the ref about it when they get whistled.

Soccer is a great sport, I just wish the players would act like men.
