Hope you all had a good 4th, here's some shots from our party at my old friends house tonight...














Un-incorporated Snohomish County = Freakin War zone on the 4rth.

I was dragging the shutter about 20-30 seconds for each of those shots.
Lens was a super-wide 11-16mm f2.8... pics above shot at f4 with 200ISO and a remote release.

Speaking of close calls, there were 4 teenagers lighting off a mortar last night and apparently didnt think they had to move after lighting it. I didn't see exactly what happened, but they were still looking down on it as it blew off. One kid singed off all the hair on the front of his face, and the other had gunpowder burns on his forehead. After freaking out, then making sure they were OK, their mother cut them off from fireworks the rest of the night.

We had company from a near-by America-Hating municipality that thinks it's subjects aren't qualified to display patriotic pride. They brought over their entire arsenal.

About 10:30 my new next-door neighbor (moved in last fall) came out in the middle of the salvo and started shouting "That's enough!"

I looked at him then bent down and lit another mortar.

He can move his ass to Canada if his bitch ass don't like it.

My daughter & I spent an hour this morning with the broom and leaf blower cleaning up the debris.

I still have all my fingers, so all is well. Amped up the spud gun a bit, so nobody will be out of range at next years' SRC.
