http://www.washingtonstatewire.com/home/...blicans_say.htmLink is to article called Spotlight on the wire service. Seems the $480 M from the feds the Gov counted on to fill the Medicaid short fall has a problem, R's are saying it ain't coming and D's are hoping. Get ready for the mud flinging.
The root of it is in Congress R's are not going to leap at anymore spending in a election year. But that is not the problem. The Blue Dog D's have said no and so far have not budged.
First look one goes to politics as usual but it is not. The Blue Dogs & Lib R's will vote for this and extended unemployment BUT only if it is not borrowed and does not add to the deficit in other words spend on this cut something else. This is going to be interesting. The size of the national debt and other things is going to require changes or to put it differently.......... a reprioritization of how tax dollars are allocated. This will be a ever growing issue around defense spending and entitlements. Just as important the states are going to loose a bunch of fed funding.
So this is important to a citizen in this state as this is only the first reduction of federal funds and how this state reacts to it can have long term consequences.
