Say what you will, but dumb he is not. Anymore than Mr. Carter was. Sometimes extremely bright people just lack the ability to manage as they just lack the hard core instincts needed. Presidents have two real powers, bully pulpit for us in the masses and the ability to hire and fire in high level management in the government.

Agree or not but Mr. Reagan when faced with the potential of the air traffic thing he fired the whole lot. Mr. Bush Katrina blew it and let his people muddle on. Mr. Obama has done the same as Mr. Bush and muddled on with the economy and gulf thing. He has time to go in his term and he is learning ............ time will tell if he has the ability to track back to the middle and take on his own party. Mr. Clinton did and even with a R congress moved forward.

Mr. Obama has time but it is getting thinner............. but dumb he is not.

Oh my how short our memory is, or how young you are. All the wailing how bad things are, christ the recession of 57 was just as bad, 5 years after WWII even more so. Mess? Try Nam / riots and then the best of my lifetime..........stagflation. People loose houses they should have not purchased now, in the 70's most could not afford the double digit inflation and interest rates to even by a little place let alone what we build now. I am 62 and frankly the years in late 70's and the 4 years Mr. Carter was President with a economy in the tank and hostages in Iran nightly on TV gave ugly a whole new meaning.

The current President has had no free rides to be sure but he has yet to figure out how to lead. But worse mess, not no but hell no. About average for the American self imposed disasters we seem to have the ability to make.

We're the one's who keeping voting for NO change. Look who we repeatedly vote into offices in our state. No change on the horizon. Look at the national elections. No change coming any time soon.

Until a 3rd party is viable and willing to make tough decisions which may get them voted in for only 1 term nothing will change. Except, by then, our country will be bankrupt.
