long story as short as i can tell you...i had shoulder surgery almost 5 months ago...i have passed the 90 days that i needed to return to get my route back...my route was put up for bid and someone got it...since then they have replaced me and hired two more people...the only postitions at my station will be two more part time routes and i cant afford to go part time at a station that is now making sure they will be overstaffed...in other words yes i feel they are tring to get rid of me in some sort of way...but thats usually how i feel even if its not the truth...

there is a opening in Olympia that i will be applying for next week for my job...i still have a job inside the company but i have been displaced...i will have 90 days to find a job inside the company at my level or below, if i dont im terminated...no ifs and or buts about it...yes i was hurt on the job and yes they can get rid of me it is not illegal...they are self insured and thats how they roll

i have not been on here that much cause i cant cast yet and i didnt want to get too depressed everyone has been fishing without me...but now i am able to fish in the salt water cause i use the other arm in the salt.....

my issue is...for several months IF i get the job in Olympia i will be traveling 3 hrs extra to get to and from work...

if we moved to that area would i be kissing my salt water fishing goodbye??? we have a 17 ft Alumaweld with a prop...not a good rougher water boat, but great for Mid Channel and Kingston area and we spend bout 30 days up in Seiku a year

im not too worried about being able to use the drift boat due to we may not spend as much time in the Olympics but more time down south or go west...but its new rivers new area and i feel like im kissing what i know away...and starting all over frown

the other question is...i would like to be 20 miles from the Cabelas exit...the station is right down the street from Cabelas...but will go farther if needed for good land....Where would you move to?? Any ideas of areas to look into would be greatly appreaciated...my house is going up for sale in a couple weeks if anyone is looking for a 2 bed 2 bath in Chico area....but that just lengthens my story

thanks guys...and ive missed ya....hahahah...c

Hang in there, guy. Change is always hard but worth it, put in the time and in 3 to 6 months you will have some good fish friends.
Lots of good folks around Olytown. Hope your health grows. Keep posting!

i really hope everything works out for you...my only advice would be to make sure if she has lost weight or got a new haircutt or dolled herself up, differently she is deff looking for more attetion...after all most of us are attention whores...ill admit i fall for that kind of stuff quick...and if you dont give her enough she will find it somewhere else...hate to say it but usually when a woman says she is not happy, she is finding it somewhere else..35 yrs is no where what ive ever done but tony and i are just a few years into it, but we do everything together...except he plays in the sheds here and i play mafia wars...hahahah

McCleary is a really nice little town, great school, and it is a hop, skip, and a jump from many area fishing destinations. There will also be a nice 1,500 SF home on 0.25 acres going up for sale in a month.

olympia isn't a bad place to live if you don't mind driving a bit to go fishing. the local spots pretty much suck any more, and are overrun with people.

everything else aside it's a nice place to live. i think i'd take jakes advice to avoid lacey. i grew up there, and it's become an urban sprawl hellhole with traffic like puyallup.

sweeeeet...giving me some good news here aunty M!! and Coho...i love coho so that makes me a bit happier...i guess we will have to figure out some of those horrible launches on the hood canal..wish they would fix them there are so few...im putting my bid in for the job in a few hours...keep your fingers crossed they accept me...my stomach is in knots just thinking about it...new job, back to work, traveling for a while...but looks like when we sell the house i might be getting a new Deisel Jetta!!! if im gonna travel for a while ill need a better car...right now the trip will be 120 miles roundtrip and add 400 bucks to the fuel bill...that out to cut into some of my fishing cash...but if we sell my house we wont have a mortage...the house we are living in is paid for, but wont be able to sell that place for 2 more years....never thought i would have to move...i like it here...my family is here, tonys family is here...thats the hardest...i like fishing the rivers...tony likes the salt more than the rivers...im hoping he can have a better time in the rivers smile

dogfish...thats doesnt sound too bad...looking for a smaller house..with room to build a 3000 sq ft garage smile at least thats the dream..i think tony wants a acre or more or at least enough room to pull the truck and boat in with out having to make a 3 pt turn to get it in the garage...land is prob what we will be buying...but im gonna guess we will rent for a while...i may hate it down there and have to move again...hopefully i wont have to sign a two year contract with my job to stay there...usually you dont have to if you were displaced but i feel like ive been screwed every way i could so far from work...we will see frown

edited to add this...im hoping i will love it at my job, and make me love my job all over again smile

Lots of land in McCleary. I built a circular driveway for my boat parking.

There is good and bad in Olympia, but you will lose a lot of the saltwater fun you are used to. I am good friends with some people from Kitsap Co, (Elkman for one). This is the time of the year when that area is a great place to live and fish.

However, in just a few weeks the amount of salmon fishing within an hours drive from Oly, goes waaaay up. Your boat will be perfect for estuary fishing, which is your chance to get the premiere fishing in our region.

Real estate prices are pretty depressed right now. You can probably find a property with that shop on it with a 2-minute real estate search. I would be willing to bet that there are properties with shops and manufactured homes on them. Move into the manuf. home and then develop for your permanent residence over time.

The Harbors are an hour west, The Big C is an hour south, and the Sound is at your doorstep.

The main thing is Friday & rush hour traffic especially within 10 miles of Ft. Lewis.

That and the local do-nothing politicians.

hahahahaahhaha...you guys are too much...hahahah...thats actually a good price and not bad location...i cant tell if it has room for a 3000 sq foot garage but that would be a sweet place...it actually gives me some hope that there are reasonable prices out there...

RR thanks...that is what i think will make it hard to leave here...prob no fishing at lunch for the silvers and no running out after work...looks like we will become "Weekend Warriors" ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...hahahha but we kinda do that now...well here i go ...im making the call to put in for the job...crossing some fingers now...hahahha

I regularly go fishing at lunch in Aberdeen, and on my way home.

Your facility would only be 5 minute ride from the Nisqually. Not exactly a pristine experience, but you could get a king. Bring rubber gloves to keep the egg goo off your hands before going back to the office.

I college I had a job out in that area and actually fished for SRC with flies at lunch quite a bit in the summers.

thanks i know it sucks...ive been hearing it from pretty much everyone for the last five months+ thats why i said it...here it is...i dont want to name my employer, but i deliver packages...my job title is a courier...after 90 days my route since i had one route went up for bid to everyone in the company...a 31 year employee got my route...even though i have a ton of pissed off customers ive left, who i hv been with for the last 6-7 years...im gonna miss em a bunch and that sucks...
this employee was a float driver, meaning he does not have his own route...so im faced with bidding on a job that is above me...which is harder to do...my company is saving my "position" as a courier...that is what they are holding...that is what they by law need to do...that is what they hold for me...im ok with that...i knew it coming into the surgery...but i was not going to be able to deal with not being able to do my job the way i need to and not being able to row my driftboat...i had to take the chance at surgery..now that i have done the surgery i would not have lasted very much longer...i completly tore the front and rear labrum and part of the rotator....going into the surgery we thought at the least 4 weeks off, 3 months off at the worst...i woke up and they said it was severe...5 weeks in a sling and 5 months off work...i was a bit devistated...but such as life...there really is nothing i can do...i love my job in a sense i enjoy what i do...i love my customers...maybe not my co-workers...but im hoping wherever i go people wont need to know everyones business...i came from a station of over 500 peeps...we all got along we had fun together, partied together, heck 2 people from my work got impregnated at my first wedding...but when i came to this station...there were only about 23 of us...everyone is in everyones business and we all clash in so many ways...it may be the best thing that has ever happened to me...i try to think that things happen for a reason, and just flow with it...the only thing that sucks is that they have since ive been gone they have hired another full timer, bumped up a part timer and are now offering two part time postions, which i cant afford only 17.5 hours a week...i got to go where the cash is...i just wish they would have thought about me a little more...but this is a top 10 companys to work for, so how much can i really complain...and would i really want to...where else would i make what i make without a college degree...which they are helping me pay for college??? sorry didnt want to get too far into it...but they can do what they did...it just sucks....bottome line is they have a job title for me...ill just have to move...but it doesnt mean i wont move back...the question is would i want to...this may be my out... smile
