Just bought a new traditions vortek. They come with the #10 nipple and I bought a #11 musket nipple to replace it with. The replacement fits and supposedly guys have been doing it and it works. Traditions says they don't reccomend it due to possible mis fires. Has anyone here done this?

#11 isn't a musket cap. Do the new caps have additional flanges on them? If so, those are musket caps.

I bought the musket cap conversion for my T/C Thunderhawk, but have yet to put it on. The Dynamit Nobel #11 caps work fine for me so far.

I use #11 Dynamit Nobels as well. These seem to be more rare, but the gun shop in Elma usually has them. I have heard that T7 is harder to ignite with #10 nipples so that is why I switched over.

Yup, top hat/flanges.

The caps I shoot are #11 musket caps I thought. They are some weird german name, they just pretty much look like a copper top hat with wings or a brim all the way around it. I have shot them the last few years and they seem like a reliable cap. I just want to get this new traditions shooting the same caps as the other ML in my arsenal, plus its a much bigger nipple, more fire more boom right.
