What are the limits that people will go for a buck, Heres some background on the situation, so you can fully appreciate the situation. last december i was out with my wife at our local shindigger havin some drinks with friends. I was sitting inside and a friend of mine came inside and said there was some dude hasslin my wife. so i went outside and sure enough this funkin gangbanger loser is there callin her filthy names (apparently she shut him down, which made him mad). so i proceed to get between my wife and this scumsucker, and tell him to piss off. In classic douche bag fashion he immediately wants to squab, talkin about how hes gonna take me out back and beat the piss outta me. Well i say i dont want any part of it, partly because we are at a very well known bar, and the cops would be there lickity split, and partly because i know hes got about 8 of his boyfriends there with him, all of which wouldnt bat an eye at jumping in and getin some licks. So hes says one more nasty thing about my wife and i lose my temper and tell him to go funk himself. Then BANG beer bottle in the mouth, puts a hole clean through my lip, about the size of a quarter. Then i went nuts spitting blood on him, grabbed his coat and pulled it over his head and hockey chumped him. one of his boyfriends comes out and blindsides me twice almost knocking me out. Well so here comes the best part of all. I just got done with a deposition in which this lowlifes attorney tries to turn it all around on me, asking me questions such as "well isnt it true you told my client to go f himself?" or "Did you not take an aggressive posture toward my client?" "Isn't it true that you struck my client back?" essentially trying to make it look like i deserved what i got. This really chaps my hide of course i struck him back, and of course i told him to go f himself, but the attack was unprovoked. This piece of human garbage better do prison time. this is a class b felony in washington, and its his second felony assault. Why am i telling you guys you ask? Because im so sick and tired of the legal system, ive seen too many times guys like him get off or get it lowered to something ascenine. There needs to be stricter regulations for repeat offenders.

The really sad thing is that if that guy had enough $, he could hire a lawyer with enough "friends" in the judicial system to get him off, and possibly even successfully sue you for his injuries and emotional trauma. It seems like some measure of justice will be served here, but that piece of #### will be back on the streets picking more fights within 6 months, so it won't be the appropriate measure, in my opinion. Not to mention that it will cost the taxpayers of this state something like $40,000 to cage him up for that length of time....

OH, and it's probably a good thing that pistols aren't allowed in bars. Most likely, this attack would have sent you over the edge, and you would have ended up being the one in prison. The good news is that we would all have one less worthless piece of trash to worry about, and for that, we would all thank you.

Me either. Life's too short to be putting up with sloppy or testosterone laden drunks.

well, in my defense. we were there for a birthday celebration (at the time this was the only place with a dance floor) and she didnt go outside all by herself, she went out with her friends, and all of this occured inside of five minutes, and i was on the way to the hospital in ten.

If you are going to get into that type of stuff, they'd better not know your name or how to find you. Lawyers work for their clients and, unfortunately for you, it sounds like that gangbager loser is smart enough to have gotten a good one.

No, that doesn't make it "right" but it is what it is.

+1 Kaiser D. I (one of them g'damn lawyers) spent a couple of hours yesterday tracking down the blog posts of someone who sued my client. Its amazing what people post on the web without thinking.

Mowsley, first you talk about wishing things were different so you could kill people, yeah we know you were joking, and then about being assaulted. I'm seeing a pattern here.

the reason i wrote about it at all was so that people could get an idea of what kind of a situation i was dealing with. The standing point of my post was my disgust for the flawed justice system this country carries.
